Hey GIMP gurus,

I recently upgraded from GIMP 2.8.16 to 2.10.28. I’m not a high-level user,
and most of what I do is cleaning up scanning electron micrographs for
publication. So to remove background, I use the Bucket Fill tool a lot. In my
older version, when you selected the Bucket Fill tool, a dialog appeared that
allowed you to switch between replacing individual pixels and filling the whole
selection. The latter is what I want to do. In the new version, I cannot find
this dialog and the Bucket Fill tool seems to be set on the pixel replacing
option. After a hour or two of fooling around, I decided to seek help but I
can’t find anything on the help site that deals with using individual Paint
tools.

Can anyone advise me?

By the way, I only downloaded the new version because my old version is no
longer permitted to open the desktop, which is where my images are accessible.
Were it not for this, the old version would have remained entirely satisfactory
for my needs.

Biology Bill
