I probably either missed your question or didn't know the answer. Do you want to try posting it again? Also be specific about things like what distro you use, what gimp version, what OS (win, mac, linux).
If we can't answer it, maybe I can track down someone who can. As for outdated stuff.. The web page is in the process of being redone. It will appear.. eventually.
