Seems to be two main methods, so here's a summary; Double click on the "rectangular selection" tool icon. Click on the "fixed size/ratio" widgstuffie and choose your ratio. Start a selection,and while holding the left button down, hold SHIFT on
the keyboard. To move the selection around after it's done, holt ALT + click and drag. To crop image to the selection, choose the crop tool, click on the image, and click on the "from selection" button. or resize the canvas, without resizing the image, and move it around so you only see what you want.
