I am using Slackware on most of my machines, RH 6.0 on a notebook and have
tried SUSE once. I still like Slackware, because you get a basic
foundation and can install everything you need in /usr/local and/or /opt,
just as you like.
Rumours tell me that debian is also quite good. But you should be happy
with RH.
