This is very odd indeed.
I have basically the same (global) .gitconfig in my home
directory in
Linux (Ubuntu) and in MacOS (Catalina)
One setting is
[init]
defaultBranch = default
That works fine in Ubuntu, but in MacOs the branch that is
created per
default is master.
What is wrong here? Some case is wrong for MacOS?
Do you have the same version of git on both systems?
