Review comment:
       The first parameter to BETWEEN is a boolean flag, to differentiate 
BETWEEN and NOT BETWEEN.
   `a BETWEEN b AND c` => `b <= a AND a <= c`
   `a NOT BETWEEN b AND c` => `b > a OR a > c`
