Again, this is a fairly long time to wait to get a fairly incomprehensible error message. I'd much rather get an error message near-instantly telling me I can't use anything other than java 8 -- which is all this change does. Once you fix hive to support something other than java 8, you can change this rule to reflect your newly supported world.
