b4n left a comment (geany/geany#4299) You'll probably need to replace all `.tags` files in that directory with those from [the upstream sources](https://github.com/geany/geany/tree/master/data/tags). Just download the unmodified ones and copy them over the broken ones in */usr/share/geany/tags/*.
