I've just tried that. The crash seems to be independent of Geany version used - 
it disappears when using 1.36 but it's probably just because that version still 
uses GTK 2; otherwise it's present in Geany 1.37 and newer. This also means 
that it probably isn't caused by any recent Scintilla changes.

Next I tried to compile the latest GTK 3.24.x - no crash. Next, I tried to 
compile 3.24.38 which is also the GTK version coming with Debian 12 - no crash 
either. After removing the compiled GTK libraries - crashes again.

So one option is that there's some packaging problem on Debian. Another option 
is that I didn't use exactly the same build options of GTK as Debian (I used 
just plain `meson setup` without any extra parameters) and that with some other 
options one can reproduce the crash. I haven't investigated further.
