eht16 left a comment (geany/geany#4348) I'm using this patch now and try to notice how well it will behave (or not).
Though I don't use the Overview plugin usually and I cannot reproduce the crash without this change. Also if I create a new file with the overview plugin enabled, I still have the editor widget focussed.
