I think I like this. Usually, I don't use the sidebar tabs a lot since I 
basically just need the Symbols tab. The other ones are often hard to reach 
because of the need of scrolling. So vertical tabs would help me actually and 
nowadays we usually have more space in width than in height :).

My theme (it's called "Red-On-Black", I think I downloaded it from somewhere 
and modified it, so don't consider it as a reference :D), seems to use some 
extra spacing.
So, being able to tweak this using CSS would be great.
