This requires no coding skills, it's mainly configuration. For details see https://geany.org/manual/#custom-filetypes. Feel free to ask about further details. You can find existing custom filetype definitions in `/usr/share/geany/filedefs` (or whereever Geany is installed on your system), all custom filetypes have a `.conf` extension.
