b4n left a comment (geany/geany#4432) I agree the current name is probably not very helpful for most people, that just end up getting used to the name rather that really understanding it. As to a replacement I don't really know what would be a good fit, especially considering I believe it can be docked to the right, so "bottom" might be problematic.
