I do understand the gist, and it seems stupid to have so many different parsers. I come from having spent many years using UltraEdit on an old Windows machine. Great text editor!...And adding syntax highlighting for a language is straightforward. One or more regex's defines how it treats functions. A section for keywords. A descriptor of single and multi-line comments. Plus other stuff. Many times, having too many options is worse. I just want to use JAL in Geany and have it look similar to what I was easily able to do in UltraEdit.
