I started using Geany in Windows 11 and found methods of disabling caret blinking and selecting dark UI mode. There's no help file, article in website showing how to do this while many people is looking for the feature. Please check, review and post this to help file so Geany to be loved by many Windows OS users.
How to disable caret blinking Open 'settings.ini' file in C:\Program Files\Geany\etc\gtk-3.0 folder. Administrator permission is required to edit the file. Append a line below; gtk-cursor-blink=false Switching to dark mode UI can be done also in this file. Append a line below; gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme=true Save the file and restart Geany.
