WrapEarnPass left a comment (geany/geany#4632) @Skif-off GTK3 is legacy, and gtk-update-icon-cache does use gtk4-update-icon-cache on most distros now, but geany is a gtk3 app, and gtk-update-icon-cache has already been broken between GTK releases once. Your position makes it sound like geany is being deprecated for relying on a deprecated toolkit, or that the expectation is that gtk4-update-icon-cache is the only tool supported, making the fallback itself unnecessary. Would you prefer I remove the fallback?
