Review Comment:
In the case of `Add`, the precision is adjusted based purely on the input
types, not values (so it's predictable).
In the case of `Sum`, we would have to vary the precision based on the
values or at least the number of values, which doesn't seem very attractive. So
I think it would be better to do overflow checking instead.
