I may have to do a new PR; it seems that manually cherry picking changes (but not the commits themselves) perhaps resolves to the same commit hashes and git thinks the branches are the same (up-to-date). Just noting here that even though I have a branch ready with fresh history (https://github.com/drin/arrow/tree/ARROW-8991-newfn-scalar-hash-fresh), I can't seem to overwrite this branch with it. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
