Thanks @lidavidm - good to know it is not just me going crazy! I have removed support of data production for unions for now. Also rebased on master. Totally understand the time pressure. I might work on some of the other pieces in the meantime as separate PRs if that's OK, to have a couple of bits ready for you to look at :-) Also read the thread on Unions.
