Other apache/arrow-* use the asf-site branch and there are no problems. We'll not meat any problem too. In general, we don't push to the asf-site branch. We'll generate document site and push to the asf-site branch automatically. So we'll not touch the asf-site branch after we prepare auto update mechanism.
