It appears someone else has already created a PR (#50804). That PR only configures ShellCheck and does not seem to include changes to the pre-check settings. I had intended to create my PR after #50796 was merged to avoid the need for a rebase of the pre-check configuration file; I created the issue beforehand to prepare the commit log, but the modified files are already ready.
