URL: https://github.com/apache/arrow-rs/pull/11210

   ## Which issue does this PR close?

   Closes #11191.

   ## Rationale for this change

`variant_get` converted a missing shredded object field into `Variant::Null`
instead of an Arrow SQL NULL when both shredded columns were null.

   ## What changes are included in this PR?

   - Track rows with both shredded columns absent when unshredding a requested
Variant result.
   - Preserve explicit Variant nulls and empty shredded objects as valid values.
   - Add regression coverage for missing, explicit-null, and present shredded
object fields.

   ## Are these changes tested?

   - `cargo test -p parquet-variant-compute` — passed (368 tests and 13
doctests)
   - `cargo clippy -p parquet-variant-compute --all-targets -- -D warnings` —
passed
   - `cargo fmt --all -- --check` — passed
   - `git diff --check` — passed

   ## Are there any user-facing changes?

Yes. Missing shredded object fields now preserve SQL NULL semantics when
requested as Variant output; explicit Variant nulls remain valid Variant values.

   ## AI assistance

OpenAI Codex assisted with reproducing the issue, implementing the focused
fix, adding regression coverage, and running the validation above. The
submitted changes were reviewed locally before submission.
