@sdf-jkl I've opened #11508 with the benchmark on its own (`cargo bench -p parquet-variant --bench variant_path`). I also merged `main` into this branch and fixed a build break against #11231: the quote tracking added there called `push`/`is_empty` on the buffer that this PR makes lazy. The ownership test now also covers a quoted field containing `]`. Once #11508 lands I'll merge `main` here again so the benchmark exists on the baseline.
