Thanks for the detailed review and for verifying the regression tests! I'd prefer to keep this PR focused on the top-level column collision described in #52997, since that behavior and its precedence are already established. The additional nested-path collision is a valid edge case. I'm happy to investigate it separately and submit a follow-up once the expected precedence behavior is clarified.
