## Which issue does this PR close? None. Temporary draft to validate cross-platform support before updating #11460. Please do not merge. ## Rationale for this change #11460 enables mimalloc only for the Linux Arrow writer benchmark. This draft checks whether the same benchmark builds and runs with mimalloc on macOS and Windows before removing that restriction from the original PR. ## What changes are included in this PR? Based on #11460 at `b1c118bd52655725911d374aff4d1a0d0b85a4c9`: - Move mimalloc into ordinary Parquet development dependencies and remove the Linux gate from the benchmark allocator. - Add explicit `arrow_writer` release compilation and a single `primitive/default` smoke case to the existing macOS and Windows CI jobs. - Enable `MIMALLOC_VERBOSE=1` for the smoke case so CI logs show allocator initialization. The allocator override remains local to the Arrow writer benchmark executable. The original PR is unchanged. This is a compatibility check, not a performance comparison. ## Are these changes tested? - `cargo fmt --all -- --check` passed. - `python3 .github/ci/scripts/check-ci-config.py` passed (6 tests). - `git diff --check` passed. - Locked Cargo metadata confirms mimalloc is a development-only dependency without a target restriction. - macOS and Windows compilation and smoke execution are pending CI; no local cross-platform results are claimed. ## Are there any significant user-facing changes? None; library consumers are unaffected. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
