@kou I'm going through old `Type: bug` issues. This is the expected fallout of dropping `manylinux2014` wheels in #46959 for pyarrow 21, so on an Amazon Linux 2 Lambda image pip builds from source and hits the GCC check, and the answer is to pin `pyarrow<21` on AL2 or move to the AL2023-based Python 3.12 image you suggested.
