@jorisvandenbossche I'm going through old `Type: bug` issues. This one is about parquet-mr builds older than PARQUET-349 (fixed in 2015) rejecting pyarrow's `created_by` string, and the thread leaned towards neither exposing `created_by` in Python nor changing the C++ string; nothing has changed since 2022 and `CREATED_BY_VERSION` is still `parquet-cpp-arrow version X`.
