I found an edge case in the existing StreamDecoder that affects this wrapper: a schema-only stream without an EOS marker. decode() consumes the schema metadata and switches to Body, but exits because the input buffer is empty, even though bodyLength == 0. This leaves schema() as None, and finish() reports Unexpected End of Stream. The [IPC specification](https://arrow.apache.org/docs/format/Columnar.html#ipc-streaming-format) allows streams to end without an explicit EOS marker. I’ve opened [#11967](https://github.com/apache/arrow-rs/pull/11967) with a fix and a regression test.
