I merged the latest master and did some necessary updates to arrow2 here https://github.com/Igosuki/arrow-datafusion/tree/arrow22r (didn't fix handling timestamp logical types and decimals in arrow2). I'm seeing significant performance improvements on an avro-related workload, and most of all datafusion barely appears in my flamegraph anymore.
