The test can be fixed by #34985. However we may still need to rollback this change as it effectively dropped Beam Java 8 support. Alternatively one can pin avro version as https://github.com/apache/beam/blob/75cf7e182c9af656db147050f2cab1b7b374ee97/sdks/java/io/expansion-service/build.gradle#L35 in expansion service build.gradle.
