@mixermt congrats on landing apache/iceberg-rust#3111. I opened #7157 as a draft that wires the merged backend into Comet, building on your design here. It follows the merged semantics: each portless authority is declared as `hdfs.name-node.<ns>` from the session's Hadoop config, and there is no single-NameNode gate. It also falls back on Kerberos clusters. opendal's hdfs-native service connects every client to a synthetic `nameservice`, so hdfs-native looks up an `ha-hdfs:nameservice` token and never finds an executor's delegation tokens.
