Ah crap I thought it was public already in `arrow-rs`! But thanks for
handling that. I guess we have to wait for an `arrow-rs` release and update
before we can merge this, but maybe you can unblock by copying the trait over
and writing all of the code here then we can rebase and point to the arrow-rs
version?
