Of course you would take that literally, because that's all it says. :-
O I feel that the documentation often falls short of explaining
everything necessary to avoid confusion. Luckily your understanding of
git is high enough that you could figure it out by investigative
means.

It's somewhat comforting, however, to hear that it's actually not
possible (yet). It makes it seem less confusing and more hopeful for
the future.

I think what I'll do is keep origin as the push-default and just
specify puborigin whenever I pull/fetch, since I push more often than
I pull/fetch, and thus I will have to type less. :-D

Thanks to all who have participated, especially Mr. Chamarty, and feel
free to check in with new light if there is any to shed!
