FYI, github was very slow for me yesterday also, whereas its normally very fast.
"git push origin master" seemed to hang, but finally completed after perhaps 1 min, for a small push. usually this would take say 2 seconds and browsing my repo in firefox resulted in a "github 404 page", ie project not found.
