I set up GitLab on a DigitalOcean instance using the article https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-use-the-gitlab-one-click-install-image-to-manage-git-repositories
It works great. I know that GitLab puts out regular updates. How do I update my instance? I read a guide on upgrading GitLab but it didn't seem to match up with the DigitalOcean installation at all. Also, I want to change the home page to be something other than a login screen when not logged in. I know how to change a Rails app to make that happen. I'm unsure of how this DigitalOcean instance will handle upgrades though and I don't want to make changes that might just get blown away. I'd really appreciate any suggestions.
