Yo! Relative URL documentation was missing up until now :)

full steps needed to get this working.

This is for source installations. If you were using Omnibus, this would
be much more easier when 8.5 comes out at the end of the month, see
http://doc.gitlab.com/omnibus/settings/configuration.html#configuring-a-relative-url-for-gitlab.

If you are eager to try this you'll have to install a nightly package
which supports relative URLs.

Make sure to update your Apache config with one of
https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-recipes/tree/master/web-server/apache
