Hello,

I'm new to gitlab ce. I'm still running in my Enterprise free trial period. On
centos 7.3. installed via the automated repo based instructions.

Today I discovered my gitlab had become unavailable on a server wide level. No
web, ssh, git, nothing. It's a vps server and I logged into my management
portal and rebooted the server, after which the system was back up.

Where could I begin looking for the cause?

Besides a bare new os load, and your install instructions, I also added webmin,
csf firewall, and changed the ssh port to a custom one.

I enabled LE ssl certs and the renewal cronjob.

I originally used your default local postfix integration but have since
switched to using a custom defined external SMTP server. Using the local
postfix caused me email receipt issues since it wasn't a true, properly
configured email server. My SMTP server is my own private server but it is
properly configured for sending / receiving public email.

Any advice would be appreciated. I should add I've never had a server become so
totally unresponsive without some external issue, typically IP or dns related.
Thru my vps portal I couldn't even access it via the local shell console.

Thanks again.
