Yes, gitorious_host is set right. It is set to git.mydomain.edu. If I set it 
wrong or to anything else, I can't even load the Gitorious front page, since 
I believe in that case a correct route does not exist for ruby application.

The contents of the files I have posted above is the exact content of files, 
except that I have masked it with mydomain.edu.

The VHOST definition is also set right in my opinion since, I can 
successfully load the gitorious and other websites on my domain.

Lastly, about SSL, I have tried both http:// and https://, since i have not 
explicitly disabled the SSL in gitorious.yml, the login page is always SSL. 
Nonetheless, I have also tried with SSL disabled, and still I get the same 
error.
