This may happen for one of two reasons:

1) Your repository is cloned on Gitorious. Then it can not be deleted.
2) Your repository has lots of data, and deleting it takes more time than
the timeout for the web request. Your repository will eventually be deleted.

In both cases the 503 happens due to missing error handling logic in
Gitorious.
