Gender Evaluation Methodology for Internet and ICTs (GEM) Book Launch
=====================================================================
November 15 14h00-15h00 BCO ICT4D Village KramExpo-WSIS Exhibition Hall.

The Gender Evaluation Methodology for Internet and ICTs (GEM) is a step
by step innovative gender analysis tool produced by APC's Women's
Networking Support Programme (APC WNSP) for practitioners who share a
commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment in ICTs.
Field-testing and refining GEM with about 25 projects got underway in a
series of regional activities in Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe and
North America.

This manual draws from these experiences to provide guidelines,
questions, activities, worksheets and examples that help evaluate how
ICT interventions are addressing gender issues and inequalities. The GEM
tool is useful for beginners who want to know how to conduct gender
evaluations; it is also a reference book for those who have more
experience in evaluation and in gender analysis and are looking to apply
these in ICT initiatives. The publication and CD are in English. Spanish
and French translation will be available by end of 2005.
