Dear Colleagues,

Today, has been the post-WSIS consolidation conference day for Uganda.
The conference was Organized by Wougnet, Uganda Communication
Commission, I-network, collegium for development studies and UPPSALA
Universitet.

Overall, the conference aimed at consolidating what happened at WSIS and
finding a concrete way forwards to meet the WSIS targets at the National
level. Especially, establishing national priorities and benchmarks. By
the end of the conference, the pre-WSIS task force was adopted to
oversee the initial 2-year implemetation strategy and action plan. It
was equally agreed that the Task force increases its current depth of
membership.

Interestingly, the results of the TLF were discussed with the members
increasingly interested in collaborative sharing that will be fostered
by tc.org. This was suggested as the only way to increase ICT access to
rural communities. Increasing ICT access for rural communities was one
of the resolutions made by the main WSIS Summit.

Currently UgaBYTES is working closely with all stakeholders to faciliate
a meaningfull sharing of experiences, challenges and opportunities- at
the appropriate time. Count on us in Uganda and East Africa for
Telecentre Networking. We shall count on you to facilitate knowledge
sharing in your Country.

If there is any similar progress in your country, let us know...

Best Regards,
Sulah
