The initiative to launch a programme of training of 10,000 police officials has been taken by IT Division under the consideration that the training of the police officials in a systematic way may increase the speed of implementation of different government projects and routine operations. In order to achieve the objective of Good Governance, self-reliability and efficiency within the available resources, such training is required immediately. The core of trained people produced after the completion of the project will provide the government with a pool of trained police officials, which so far they have not been able to raise, help raise overall efficiency of the department, help adopting the IT culture in the department, will improve overall comprehension and skill of the police officials, catalyze the whole process of e-government and will help in upgradation of facilities at the training institutes where the training will be imparted. The training will be conducted in different phases in major cities namely Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta in collaboration with the existing institutes in the public and private sector that have adequate facilities and have already consented to participate in the programme. ------------- Regards, Zubair Faisal Abbasi.
