Hi GLAM-Wiki leaders and event runners, I get a lot of requests for advice and support designing edit-a-thons. I also hear a lot of advice from program leaders, that I know other program leaders do not know about.
Moreover, since more and more campaigns and activities are being run in the Programs and Events Dashboard, I wanted to make sure we had advice brought together in one place accessible and translatable for the dashboard. Hence, I am happy to announce a very first, preliminary draft of an "Editathon runner" training designed for the Programs and Events dashboard training modules: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Training_modules/Editathons/First_Draft I need your help: this draft, is a very early draft. Please review it to make sure that it reflects that practices you would expect of edit-a-thon runners in your context! More instructions for feedback are on the page, but I welcome feedback here as well or at Wikimania. Also, a special thanks to everyone who share their advice in the the earlier threads, especially Kerry Raymond who articulated a number of details that I wouldn't have included by default in the training.
