Hi Margaret It would have been much more considerate to have asked this off the list, but since its here. I did a bit of research on the Museum and went to find a connection with the local community who can provide the in person assistance. The Museum is in a beautiful spot between Toronto and Montreal near Kingston on the train line between the two. Thermatic organisations provide wonderful details and can address specific needs, but in the initial phase sitting down with someone in person who has the same cultural background and understands any local nuances is invaluable.
Like Australia, Canada has a colonial past, parts of which are as destructive as ours, yet they have done more to reconcile that past than Australia has. Working with this history requires a deeper insight and understanding of that past; it's not something you can immediately get from or explain to people in other countries. Unfortunately there is a very strong no censorship, take for example Yagan and the demand that his severed head be the infobox image because it's an iconic image of the painter yet it is even mentioned in the painters article. I also look at Wikimedia Canada reporting and they are active along with the members of their board. You will see they are working with Archives of Ontario on exactly the same type of project https://www.wikimedia.ca/2023/01/31/archives-of-ontario-the-alvin-d-mccurdy-fonds/ Rather than just blindly send out links I took the time to consider what I saw as a best fit, where they will be able make lasting connections to the community and get great personal support.
