Compiling HDirect under GHC on Sparc/Solaris

Currently (I have the latest version of everything) if I do this naively 
it falls over because the Makefile contains ihc commands 
and the code ihc produces contains _stdcall's, which ghc doesn't seem
to understand.  If however I modify the ihc commands to use -g, everything
goes swimmingly.  Am I doing something wrong, and if not should the
HDirect Makefiles be fixed?
