GHC state

Dear  GHC,

could you explain the state of the  ghc  project?

ghc-4.03-Win32  was announced, with the un-expected (for me) set of 
features. Some people talk of  ghc-4.03  for Linux ...

Are there the *sources* available for  ghc-4.03  to compile for Unix,
Linux-i386 ?
Maybe,  "Ghc/Hugs"  would do what i need? 
I mean the "real" features, like
  * fast small Integer,
  * relaxed restrictions on overlaps.
