I have it working on Solaris 2.8, bootstrapped from 4.08 as Simon
describes.  The same procedure should work on 2.6.  If you have problems
I can send you the contents of the directory after compilation.  I think
the compiled directory from 2.8 would run on 2.6, as long as 64 bit mode
isn't used.
