Someone else has reported the same problem, but I still don't know what
causes it.
Could you try the following and send me the output:
$ cd ghc/lib/compat
$ make show VALUE=ghc_ge_603

$ make show VALUE=EXCLUDED_SRCS
EXCLUDED_SRCS=""
$ make show VALUE=HS_SRCS
