Greetings,
So, If I understand correctly I need to find a ia64 build and copy the HC files files over a fresh install.  Is that correct?

There have been ports to the ia64/linux platform. But I've not heard
of anything for hp-ux.

You'll have to follow the porting guide:
    http://www.haskell.org/ghc/docs/latest/html/building/index.html
    http://www.haskell.org/ghc/docs/latest/html/building/sec-porting-ghc.html

You can get further advice on glasgow-haskell-users@haskell.org, as you
proceed with the port.

Cheers,
  Don
