Nevertheless, patchy and ad-hoc solutions are sometimes very
convenient. I certainly agree that messages of the form "bad
programmer, you clearly meant X but you didn't *write* X; so go write
X and then I'll compile your program" are tiresome.
not the style of ghc at all, but it could be less _tiresome_ if it asks
"do you want me to add that to the file's language pragma?" (which
would make sense as an IDE's job, if we ever end up with one, I suppose)
